Heal the stress and tire-ness from everyday life by fountain water hot springs of Mt. Myoko`s Northern Hell Valley. Also, follow with supreme delicate service from our excellent staff, Akakura Kanko Hotel is the only resort that holds such high class of efficiency.
There are many things we can talk about the Akakura Kanko Hotel, but the most particular of all is its history. It is having its 70th Birthday Celebration this year 2007. When it first opened in 1937, the Japanese Government was promoting the plan of international resort hotel architectures due to the policy of to receive foreign currency. One of the buildings that were built because of that policy was Akakura Kanko Hotel.
As an international resort hotel, it was structured in a way that it will not disappoint foreign guests. Okura Kishichiro, the establisher was also the creator of Empire Hotel, Higher Land Empire Hotel and Kawana Hotel, therefore he is now the foundation of the new Empire Hotel, the Hotel Okura. The designer Takahashi Teitaro was sent to Switzerland to study Swiss architecture just for the hotelfs specific design.
Unfortunately, the whole building was burnt down due to fire in 1960, so that a new building was built following the blue prints of the first a year later. It was still able to continue the hotelfs original distinction.
From the landscape sceneries, hot springs to the cuisines, they are the ones that deliver the history. |
